Brainhunter is currently seeking "Owner Engineer " to work for our valued Client. The position requires the successful consultant to be on-site in (177 Tie Road, Tiverton, ON).

Job Description


Role: Owner Engineers

Location: 40 hours per week on Bruce Power Site (177 Tie Road, Tiverton, ON)

General Accountabilities
• Reporting to the accountable Design Engineering Section Manager to provide Owner Engineer support
• Manage and co-ordinate technical support of multiple projects simultaneously
• Ensure work is completed to required technical standards
• Coordinate with Work Management, Supply Chain, Trades FLM's, Engineering, Operations, Safety, Waste Management, Environment and other stakeholders to assist implementation of projects from concept through execution, commissioning and return to service
• Manage assigned project deliverables on schedule and budget
• Other duties as assigned

General Selection Criteria
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• A Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO), or eligible for PEO status, with a passion for engineering
• Bruce Power and/or OPG Security Clearance is an asset
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards is desired, along with a strong understanding of and commitment to meeting superior quality assurance requirements

Specific Requirements
      • Individual #1 - Mechanical / I&C OE with valves experience: Experience with non-nuclear valves (CSA N285.0 Class 6, ASME B31.1) and nuclear valves (CSA N285.0 Class 1,2,3, AMSE BPVC Section III). Experience with CRN and TSSA registration. Experience with valve sizing, flow calculations and valve actuators such as motor-operated actuators & air-operated actuators. Experience/awareness of interfacing system impacts, such as piping stress analysis, piping supports, electrical supply including cabling and MCCs, limit switches, seismic qualification, environmental qualification.
      • Individual #2 - Mechanical OE with HVAC experience: Working knowledge of CSA B52 and ASHRAE standards, heat load calculations, ACU sizing, ACU component specifications. Experience/awareness of interfacing systems such as cooling water systems, electrical supply including cabling and MCCs, ACU controllers and HMIs, interface with civil structures.
      • Individual #3 - I&C OE with relays experience: Working knowledge of relays, including Mercury Wetted Relays, Solid State Relays, dry-contact / wet-contact relays, etc. used in safety critical applications. Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code CSA C22.1, C22.2 (e.g. #142), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), Institute for Interconnecting and Packing Electrical Circuits (IPC), qualification testing (ANSI/IEEE Std 323), IEC EN 61000 standards for EMC. Knowledge/awareness of seismic qualification, nuclear special safety systems (SDS1, SDS2, ECI, NPC) and nuclear power plant distribution systems (Class III/IV power, 13.8 kV / 4.18 kV distribution, Emergency Power Generators, etc.).
      • Individual #4 - I&C OE with general experience: Working experience with plant instrumentation and components, such as pressure/flow/level transmitters, RTDs, valve actuators, controllers. Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, IEC EN 61000 standards for EMC. Knowledge/awareness of seismic qualification, environmental qualification (CSA N290.13), software qualification (CSA N290.14), high-level Candu plant operation.
      • Individual #5 - Electrical OE with buses experience: Working knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution systems, ranging from 250 Vdc to 13.8 kV, including switchgear buses, transfer buses, bus ducts. Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and other applicable standards. Knowledge/awareness of nuclear power plant distribution systems (Class I, II, III, IV power, emergency transfer scheme).
