What- the Role:
Our client is currently hiring for Community Relations Manager, Indigenous and Underserved Communities to help achieve their mission of representing and supporting ALL Canadians be ensuring a focus on reconciliation, inclusivity, and diversity. This is a newly created role, and the Manager will play a key role in a working group focused on connecting underserved communities, advancing Indigenous engagement, and establishing relationships in regions where none currently exist. This individual will communicate with stakeholders through various channels (video, phone, email, in-person), attend events nationwide, and build meaningful relationships to integrate community perspectives and needs into healthcare research projects. The role serves as a liaison, hub, and ambassador… connecting communities, organizations, and researchers to promote engagement, cultural sensitivity, and ethical health research practices.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking candidates with several years of relevant work experience, including direct experience supporting and communicating with Indigenous communities across Canada. Cultural sensitivity, empathy, and respect for diversity, particularly with Indigenous and underserved populations, are essential. Adaptability, collaboration, and a strong ethical sense are key, along with a positive attitude and a readiness to embrace new challenges in a growing organization.
Ideally the new Cdn S.R. Mgr will be based in Greater Vancouver so they can work from the HQ a couple days a week (more during training and initial relationship building). That said, our client is open to hiring anywhere in Canada for this role, as long as the Manager is open to work travel to other Canadian cities as needed.
How Much:
Base salary commensurate with experience and skills- in the range of $68,000 to $90,000, with the high end being reserved for candidates who meet all requirements and qualifications. - A post-secondary background in Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or Life Sciences is required (at least a Bachelor’s degree, and Master’s degree is preferred)
- Experience in the health sector, especially with a health research organization, is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
