The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you will support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files for court proceedings. Working under the supervision of Crown Counsel and the Office Manager, you will perform a variety of legal services in a high-profile and fast-paced office. Your role requires flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication, and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of responsibilities.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent;
- Successful completion of a recognized Legal Assistant certificate OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience working in a legal office;
- Experience working in a legal office in an administrative role.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Successful completion of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate.
- At least 1 year of recent experience working as a Legal Assistant in a legal office.
- Experience within the criminal justice sector.
- Experience working for the BC Prosecution Service.
